Sunset on Black mountain

Another older summit sunset image, this time from Black mountain in the Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness. emigrant peak, the peak shown in the previous post, can be seen in the upper right corner near the south end of paradise valley. The rugged crown shaped mountain in the upper left is mount cowen, its one of my favorite peaks, and I’ve enjoyed exploring the many aspect of it over the years.

the tent pictured here is one of my favorites. i think i got it for less than $100 and it isn’t made by a super high end company, instead by https://alpsmountaineering.com/. I’ve tried out numerous other one person light weight tents from more high end companies, but I haven’t found one that I like as much this one. I’ve actually purchased another one since. it seems to just be perfect for my needs. light, super sturdy and just enough space for myself and all my backpacking + photo gear. I also really like the rainfly and how low it cinches, enough for me to use it on some lightweight winter backpacking trips.
